An insight for you on the culture of Utah:
There is a tendency to pronounce the letters "a" and "t" in very characteristic ways. Whereas you and I, good Southern folk, say words like, "fahhm-ly" and "but," these Uties say, "fahm-ly" and "buh."
What's more interesting is a tendency to turn "o"s into "a"s, and then to pronounce them with that same "a" sound from above.
Case in point: "American Fork" becomes "American Fark."
According to my Aunt Shelly, it would have made more sense to call "American Fork" "American Fort"--but with the substituting in of the Utah "a" pronunciation, you can tell how this might have been problematic.
