Ye olde weeke in revue...

It's Friday, Friday, gotta get down on... (I apologize in advance, for that.)

I really just want to write about Wednesday, actually. I wanted to write about Wednesday ON Wednesday...but Blogger isn't really cooperating with my laptop this week! (I'm posting from the family desktop.)

Wednesday, I was on Amelie duty...like. All day. Oy.

Everyone was home until about noon. I actually had a leetle break and went out with Abbie to buy a wedding gift for some friends from work, who are getting married in the square tomorrow. (SIDENOTE: this is the first wedding I will be attending, that my parents weren't invited to. This may be a sign of encroaching adulthood.) Abbie dropped me back home around three, and I skyped with my sister from another mother who is studying abroad in Barcelona right now! Yeah, first off. Jealous! However, she says waffles and pancakes are virtually nonexistent there, so... 1 point for me, 99 points for her.

After that, the house cleared out- the girls had church, Mom and Ethan had a swim meet..who knows where Dad was. So what did we do?

We turned on Pandora, we got out Dad's pickling spices- i.e. mustard seed and some dill stuff, and we had a dance party to the Glen Miller Orchestra.

All in all, this:

Plus this (i.e., maraca in disguise):

Plus some rad dancing with a two year old...

Equals a pretty good time.

Happy Father's Day, Dad.

This is my Dad.

Dear Dad,

Today, I noticed your old, outdated tie...that yellow one that looks like an illustration of pre-tourist Bahamas. I wondered why you were wearing it, because you really do have lots of newer ties. Then, I realized that it's Father's day today, and that tie was Grandpas.

Thanks for being so cooky, and for thinking up all the schemes that made growing up in the Petersen house everything it was- 10-foot forts in the living room, lego towers that touched the ceiling, remote-control helicopters. Rides in the kid seat on the back of your bike, laffy taffys from the gas station...new additions to the house. Surprise pets. Computer repairs. An eternal diet of fried potatoes and bachelor's delight. And...you know. All that other stuff.

Love you.

Elise
