Lions and Tigers and Bears... and Card Tricks!

This week has been another exquisite sampler of life.

Monday morning, Abbie discovered that Zoo Atlanta knocks about $15 off admission for college students, and lets little two-year-old Amelie's in for free, so we loaded up the car and headed down to the ATL to visit with the aminals for the day. It was rather exciting! Amelie's a big fan of the Lion King, so it was pretty exciting when we ran into Pumbaa, Simba, AND Timon.

Other highlights of the day included a pair of mating turtles, which she watched ever so intently (and let out a nice, awkward "woooow!"). The turtles, however, were probably topped by the Komodo Dragon, which Amelie instantly labeled as a dinosaur. (The other day at the pool, she told me she saw a dinosaur in the woods. Aparently, they're not as hard to find as you'd think.) We saw a pig (if you know us well, you'll know that this was pretty great- we also discovered that REAL pigs are not quite as cute as Peppa and Olivia), and stopped at the petting zoo to visit the goats. Finally, we rode the carousel and the train, and then after a couple of hours of running around, it was pretty much time to go home and take a nap!

Needless to say, Monday was pretty great.

Tuesday was lots of fun, too- I had Starbucks with Levi in the morning, went to visit the Sessomater at Awtrey, and then went into work at 4:00 for my last shift of the summer. It was a pretty durn good one- it was slow and I didn't make TOO much money, but I worked with people I like a lot. Plus, my parents came in! I shared a fried pickle with my Dad, and he and my mom had some pie.

After we were off, Abbie and I concocted a Steak n Shake plan. Some work friends came with us, and my manager and buddy-fren Jordan enlightened us on his fabulous secret talent of card tricks! Seriously, he belongs in Vegas! I think we burned up a whole hour watching him, and I ended up completely losing track of time! Abbie came over for the night, and that was pretty much that!

Beyond all of that, there's just been lots of packing going on- I head back to Provo tomorrow evening. Mixed feelings about that, but it is what it is, right?

Next post will be after my move- wish me luck!
