Why I Had a GREAT Day Today

Today has been wonderful.

First of all, I woke up with some sore feet because yesterday, Abbie and I went to White Water and walked around barefoot all day (obviously)...and also because I got a little excited about this new pedicure tool I got. Yeah, anyway, I was SUPPOSED to go hiking with Heather, and I was planning to just tough it out, but she texted me and cancelled the hike due to some lack of sleeping on her part...so I, secretly relieved, acquiesced to a pool trip instead...

Which actually never happened, either. Boo.

However, a thunderstorm did. And don't we all know it- I. Love. Thunderstorms. It's something about growing up in the South. Anyway, Heather came over here instead, where we all had a lazy pajama day, listening to the rain, eating cookies made by Ethan (who claims that you can't be a "real missionary" until you know how to make cookies- take notes, Ev), and watching wedding movies (The Wedding Planner, followed by My Best Friend's Wedding). No real purpose to that, they were just looking like good choices on Netflix today.

Also noteworthy about Heather's visit was this sweet Florentine (?) journal. I say Florentine without any real clue if that's a real term or not- but also because it's from Florence! And it's sick! It's leather-bound and awesome. And I'm excited to finish my current journal so that I can start into this one!

After eight cookies each (no, really, eight) and TWO movies, we needed offs from the couch, so...we did the other thing that girls do best. (Other than eating.) We went..shopping. And I got some cute new things from H&M that I like to call my "back to school shopping," which really should be called, "results of H&M having sweet clearance deals and me being weak."

I dropped Heather off, went home and ate some quick dinner, and then loaded up Amelie to go to Starbucks, where we met Marly and visited over a Vanilla Bean frappe. We loved this outing, because one of us got to color on the backs of some old receipts AND half of the treat...and the other one of us was just happy that the other one was happy. The three of us then headed over to North Cobb, where we visited the little bandies and listened to their show which is, as a matter of fact, pretty cool. We met Abbie ("Bobby") and Keeley (Bobby's dog), and also were surprised to find Marina, with whom I now have plans on Saturday!

So, as the day is winding down, I am thankful for rain, good days, baby kisses, music, friendship, wedding movies, Starbucks...and... happiness :]
