Judaism and the (four) Gospel(s)...

Today was the very first day of the new semester. And I went to my very first day of New Testament.

I have been really excited for a class I'll have on Wednesdays called Judaism and the Gospel, which I guess is essentially supposed to compare Judaism with the gospel of Jesus Christ as I know it and learn it every day here at the Y. But if it's anything like it's sister-class, Islam and the Gospel, which I took last fall, it'll basically just be about Judaism. Which is okay, because I can probably do the comparing and contrasting on my own.

Anyway, my "textbook" for Judaism is a book called This Is My God, by Herman Wouk. I started reading it on Saturday because...yeah okay because I'm just so excited for this class! Really! I love, looove learning about other religions. It's a spiritual experience in a whole new kind of way.

As I'm reading my New Testament readings, having just read some of This Is My God, I am realizing for the first time how completely incredible it might just be to be taking Judaism and The New Testament at the same time.

Here we go.
